Memorial (Day Drinking)

Rosé  is the word of the day!

Or Weekend if you will.

It is the drink of the summer season, and there is nothing more summer then three day weekends!

This weekend I find myself with family, or rather forcing them to be with me. My brother is the writer, and incredible author with a sharp since of humor and untapped pool of imagination. This particular weekend he’s freelancing for Play Boy, and is spending the weekend in Dewey Beach with his old lifeguard pals doing unsavory things.

I’m crashing.

So, here’s what I’m drinking.

Frose

It’s called the Frosé. And its debatably the most popular drink of the summer, if you have a blender on hand that is.

Here are the secret ingredients

  • 750 ml bottle of your favorite Rose
  • 3 1/2 oz. bluecoat gin
  • 2 oz. St-Germaine Elderflower Liquer
  • 3 1/2 oz. fresh strawberry juice
  • 3 oz. fresh lemon juice
  • 3 oz. simple syrup
  • about 7 oz. Cold water

Blend the ingredients except the water, add that slowly to get the desired taste and consistency.

Rosé The Riveter is not going to be very useful for the casual backyard festivities, but for those of you who want to throw that boujje BBQ and see the world through rose colored glasses, this is your drink.

It containes

  • 5 raspberries
  • juice from half a lemon
  • 3 dashes of agave nectar
  • 2 oz. of Rosé
  • 3/4 oz. guava nectar
  • 2 oz. raspberry vodke
  • champagme to top

Shaken… not stirred.

So regardless of our usual Memorial Day downpour, I’ll be ringing in the summer with Rosé all day.

I hope  everyone enjoys the Holiday weekend and gets some much needed relaxing time.
